Please see details of the Family Lantern Parade that will be taking place on
Thursday 26th November 2009. I hope you can make it. I am still waiting to
hear from the Riverfront with regard to using the basement for a practice
before we perform.

Parade
The Parade is being organised by Andy O’Rourke (Malarky Arts), in association with Newport City Council and is being sponsored by Newport Unlimited.
Will include local schools and community groups including:

A giant magical star will be leading the way; with the samba band ‘Batatan’; the children will be joined by a wintry, colourful band of followers; a variety of mythical creatures including yeti, ice queen and holly & oak kings doing ‘battle’!

5.30pm: Parade to start (Police to assist crossing of the main Kingsway Road – using the pedestrian crossing)

Once in John Frost Square:
Arrival into John Frost Square (Anytime between 5.50pm and 6.30pm) will be met with a welcome from Stage Host (Jools Constant) on behalf of the crowd – once in John Frost Square the parade will provide 10 minutes of entertainment before the staged music/dance event start. Event will finish around 8pm latest (dependent on weather).
